Retail flooring is the hard-wearing floor package installed in shopfronts, sales floors, fitting rooms and back-of-house across a store or a national store portfolio. Premrest Flooring installs retail flooring for retailers, shopfitters and shopping centre landlords, from single flagship stores to multi-site rollout programs across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and nationally.
Retail floors take the heaviest foot traffic of any commercial interior and are on show to every customer. The install window is usually a few nights between de-fit and opening, often inside a trading shopping centre with strict noise, dock and after-hours rules. We hold a repeatable specification per brand, batch product on arrival and stage each store so it opens on the date the property team committed to.

Constraints we plan around
Trading windows
Work happens after the centre closes and before it opens. Uplift, prep and install are sequenced to the night so the store trades every day it is meant to.
Centre rules
Shopping centres control dock access, noise, dust and hoarding. We book access, manage hoarding and protection and comply with centre fit-out guides.
Brand consistency
A store in Chadstone must read the same as a store in Chermside. Locked specifications and verified product batches keep the program consistent.
Existing slabs
Retail tenancies inherit the previous tenant's slab. Old adhesive, levelling compound and moisture are assessed and remediated before the new floor goes down.
Retail flooring systems
Luxury vinyl tile and plank
The default retail sales-floor system: timber and stone visuals with a commercial wear layer and quick repair by plank.

Program specification
We work with the property team to lock product, adhesive, prep, transitions and protection into a specification pack for the brand.
Site batching
Stores are batched by geography and opening date into a rolling program with one confirmed install date per store.
Night install
Uplift and install run to the centre's after-hours window, with the store trading the next day.
Program reporting
Completion status, photos, product batch and waste diversion for each store are reported back through a single program view.

Can you install retail flooring overnight so the store keeps trading?
Yes. Most retail installs run after the centre closes, with uplift, prep and install sequenced by night so the store trades the following day.
Which flooring lasts longest on a retail sales floor?
Commercial LVT with a 0.55 mm or thicker wear layer is the usual choice for sales floors. It handles heavy foot traffic and trolley loads and individual planks can be replaced without lifting the floor.
How do you keep a national rollout consistent?
A locked specification per brand, the same install method on every site and product batch verification on arrival. Sites are reported back through one program view so the property team sees status at a glance.
Do you work in shopping centres with strict fit-out rules?
Yes. We book dock and after-hours access, manage hoarding, dust and noise controls and work to the centre's fit-out guide.
