Commercial Carpet Tile Installation

What it is

Commercial carpet tile installation is the supply and modular install of 500mm x 500mm carpet tiles across office, retail, banking and government floor plates. Premrest Flooring plans, sequences and installs carpet tile programs for head contractors and corporate property teams across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Who it's for

Built for programs, not one-offs

  • Head contractors delivering fit-outs where flooring is on the critical path
  • Project managers coordinating multi-level commercial builds
  • Corporate property teams refreshing occupied workplaces
  • Retail and banking rollout leads running consistent, multi-site programs
  • Developers delivering base-build tenancies for handover
How we deliver it

Our process

Site walk & staging plan

We walk the site with the head contractor, map access, lift and dock windows, and write up a staging plan before the first tile is lifted.

Substrate prep

Moisture test, grind, patch and self-level the slab so tiles sit flat and adhesive cures to specification.

Tile install, floor by floor

Modular install by in-house crews with an installer network for scale, staged around tenants and trades.

Protection & handover

Board protection on trade paths, clean tile handover, warranty documentation and per-project waste diversion data.

Brands we install

We install carpet tile from Interface, Milliken, Shaw Contract, Modulyss, Ontera, Signature, EC Group, GH Commercial and other Australian commercial specifications. We work to the specifier's product schedule, verify batches on arrival, and record dye-lot data so any future top-up sits flush with the original install.

Replacement in occupied offices, tile by tile

Modular carpet tile is the most forgiving product to replace inside a working office. We lift tiles at the perimeter and rework outward around workstations, so IT and furniture stay in place for as long as possible. Where a full lift is needed, we run a rolling furniture-lift methodology floor by floor, working after-hours and on weekends so trading resumes on Monday.

The tile-by-tile repair advantage

Damaged, stained or worn areas can be swapped out one tile at a time instead of replacing the whole floor. Where we hold retained stock or the dye-lot is still available, a repair is a same-day service call rather than a project. That extends the useful life of a floor and keeps end-of-life carpet tile out of landfill for longer.

How this fits your program

Carpet tile is treated as critical-path work from day one. We commit to floor-by-floor dates, install to the program, and hand over a clean floor to the next trade. On multi-tower and national rollouts we run repeatable specifications so every site looks the same on completion, whether it is a Melbourne CBD floor plate or a Brisbane branch.

FAQs

Common questions

Can carpet tile be installed in an occupied office?

Yes. Modular carpet tile is designed for it. We stage the work after-hours or on weekends, lift furniture in sections, install the tile, protect trade paths and hand back the space before Monday. Most metropolitan office refurbishments we deliver run this way.

How long does a typical office floor plate take?

A single 1,000 to 1,500 square metre floor plate is usually complete over one weekend once furniture lift and access are coordinated. Multi-level programs are scheduled floor by floor to match your handover dates.

Do you handle disposal of the old carpet tile?

Yes. Uplifted tile is sorted for reuse where a pathway exists, otherwise diverted to recycling or downcycling partners. Every project receives a waste diversion report you can pass into your ESG or Green Star submission.

What is the difference between carpet tile and broadloom?

Carpet tile is modular, replaceable tile by tile and easier to install around workstations. Broadloom is a rolled product used in boardrooms, hotel suites and premium environments where the seamless look matters more than replaceability.
