Commercial vinyl flooring covers luxury vinyl tile (LVT), luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and welded-seam sheet vinyl installed across offices, healthcare, education and retail. Premrest Flooring supplies and installs commercial vinyl systems with full moisture testing and subfloor preparation for projects across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Built for programs, not one-offs
- Head contractors on healthcare and education builds
- Retail rollout leads specifying LVT for durability
- Property teams replacing worn vinyl in occupied workplaces
- Aged care and hospital project managers requiring hygienic welded seams
- Government service centre programs specifying resilient flooring
Our process
Moisture testing
In-situ relative humidity testing to AS 1884 before adhesives are applied, with documented results supplied to the head contractor.
Subfloor prep
Grind, patch, self-level and moisture-remediate the slab. Substrate failure is the number one cause of vinyl failure and we treat prep as a separate discipline.
Vinyl install & welding
LVT laid to the specified pattern; sheet vinyl welded with matched rod and coved to skirting where the specification calls for it.
Slip rating & handover
Slip rating verified against specification, clean handover, product warranty documentation and per-project waste reporting.
LVT and LVP for high-traffic commercial spaces
Luxury vinyl tile and plank are the go-to resilient product for commercial fit-outs that need timber or stone visuals with the durability and repairability of a modular product. We install LVT to national retail specifications, corporate workplace fit-outs, banking programs and hospitality settings. Individual planks or tiles can be swapped out, which extends useful life without a full replacement.
Sheet vinyl and welded seams for healthcare
Sheet vinyl with heat-welded seams and coved skirtings is standard for hospitals, aged care, laboratories and pharmacy areas where infection control matters. We work to health infrastructure specifications, verify welds visually and by touch after cure, and record product batch and roll data for the head contractor's handover pack.
Slip ratings, wet areas and safety flooring
Where the specification calls for a minimum slip rating (R10, R11, P3, P4, P5), we verify the product certificate matches the specification before install and record it in our ITP. Safety vinyl with embedded aggregates is standard for wet areas, plant rooms, commercial kitchens and back-of-house circulation.
Moisture testing done properly
Premature vinyl failure almost always traces back to slab moisture. We follow AS 1884 in-situ relative humidity testing and hold results before adhesive is applied. Where the slab does not meet the adhesive manufacturer's threshold, we apply a moisture remediation system, document it, and only then proceed. It adds days upfront, not months of rework.

Common questions
What is the difference between LVT and sheet vinyl?
LVT is modular tile or plank, installed piece by piece and repairable one unit at a time. Sheet vinyl is a continuous roll with heat-welded seams, used where a fully sealed floor is required for hygiene or wet-area performance.
Do you do moisture testing before you install vinyl?
Yes. Every vinyl install starts with in-situ RH testing to AS 1884, with documented results shared with the head contractor. Adhesive is not applied until the slab meets the manufacturer's threshold, or moisture remediation has been completed.
Can vinyl be replaced in a hospital or occupied clinic?
Yes. Vinyl replacement in operational health environments is staged room by room or wing by wing around clinical use, with infection-control barriers and after-hours work where required.
What warranty do I get on a commercial vinyl install?
Product warranty per the manufacturer plus workmanship warranty on the install. Batch and roll data are recorded so any warranty claim can be traced back to a specific product run.
