Is loose-lay or glue-down better for commercial vinyl plank?
Full-spread glue-down is the default for high-traffic commercial specification because it stays flat under trolley and chair traffic. Loose-lay is used for fast-turnaround retail rollouts and where lifting individual planks for services access is a priority.
What preparation is needed before install?
Subfloor flatness to 3 mm over 3 metres, moisture within the manufacturer's threshold, and a clean, contaminant-free surface. On refurbishment work we uplift existing floor coverings, grind residual adhesive, patch and self-level, then moisture test before install.
How do you handle vinyl plank installs in Sydney harbourside and coastal buildings?
